Our Profile
Established in 1989 (as ConwaySmithRose), CSR, headed by Paul Smith, has grown into one of the UK's leading independent qualitative consultancies (t/o £2.5m)
Our 'very smart' offices (incorporating a recently added viewing facility) are in central London in The Heal's Building.

We are happy to be in WC1.... the shopping's good, the sandwich choice is unbelievable, Soho & Charlotte Street are just around the corner, train stations for all that northern fieldwork are 10 mins walk away and lots of our clients are based around here as well ... it's a great place to be.

Qualitative research is our bread and butter. We are acknowledged experts in traditional methodologies (focus groups and depths) and have successfully pioneered a number of ground breaking approaches including video diaries and consumer connections.
We have a loyal and diverse client base. Our researchers work across categories embracing the worlds of telecoms, financial services, fmcg, travel, retail, charities, automotive, leisure, health / beauty, and alcohol .

Although the majority of our work is conducted in the UK, an increasing proportion of our business is international, whether or not it involves a UK fieldwork component. You name the continent and we have probably organized a project there. We have bags of experience, whether it's how to get stimulus through customs in Argentina or dealing with bureaucracy in India. We have our own tried and tested approach of running global projects and we have established strong relationships with local Partner agencies.

There are 17 of us, including 11 researchers. We have our own in-house Field department which clients say enhances the quality of our respondent recruitment and we have a viewing facility at our offices which has been enthusiastically used since we got it up and running earlier this year.

We also employ a dedicated Accounts Team (late payers beware!).

We have no plans to take over the world but as Independents go we're a fair size and can handle most projects.

Significantly, we are able to provide continuity on our Clients' accounts as our turnover of staff is extremely low. Headhunters please note - we don't take this for granted. Our Brand & Culture Director (Sue) has a considerable budget at her disposal!
Clients have variously praised the CSR team as 'dedicated, enthusiastic and professional'.

Our 'honesty, pragmatism, sensitivity in analysis and big picture thinking' are frequently cited as genuine and motivating points of difference in an otherwise poorly differentiated market place.
